The Phoenix and Parkgate Angling Section offers a wide range of facilities covering most aspects of angling, whether it be fishing for specimen carp, river fishing for barbel, canal fishing or just general pleasure fishing in beautiful surroundings.

The centre piece of the facilities is Ravenfield Ponds situated near the village of Old Ravenfield. The fishery is in a secluded valley that makes for a peaceful day's fishing, away from traffic noise, with beautiful scenery and a large range of flora and fauna, some unique to the site.

The fishery is made up of six fishing lakes that contain tench, crucian carp, bream, roach, rudd, perch, gudgeon, eels, mirror carp and common carp. There are several car parks on site and vehicular access is by key only, providing very safe, discrete car parking.

While four of the lakes hold predominantly silver fish another is devoted to specimen carp, with the sixth having a high stock density and holding a large number of small carp in addition to silver fish.

In addition members also have free access to all Kilnhurst and District AA waters which includes stretches of the river Don, for barbel and chub, Baker's pond, and two lengths of the S. Yorks. Navigation.

For anyone especially interested in match fishing the club hosts one of the most extensive match programmes around with memberís only competitions being held almost every week throughout the summer and winter, both at the ponds and on local venues.

Throughout the summer the club runs a series of coaching sessions for youngsters wanting to learn how to fish or to try fishing for the first time. These are lead by Level 2 coaches and the club is Clubmark approved.
